I’m a non-fiction writer, academic researcher and creative facilitator. This site is an introduction to my work.
I’m interested in how people make sense of life. I’m interested in what connects us as human beings. I’m interested in how people’s stories are shaped by their surroundings.
I admire those with an appetite for awe – a wonderlust – an ability to find the numinous in everyday life. I also love philosophy, strange as that may sound. It begins with wonder and can lead to surprising places.
And I write to make sense of these fascinations, to see the shape of ideas, to understand life as best I can. But most of all, like Anaïs Nin, I write to live life twice.
I would like to acknowledge and pay my respects to the Yagara peoples, the original custodians of this land where I am privileged to live and work (Benarrawa area in Meanjin/ Magandjin). I extend my deep gratitude for the care they have taken of this land since time immemorial, and still take. As the original story tellers they have much to teach us all, especially about the truth that lies at the heart of this country’s history.
